Since there are a few photography buffs here, thought I'd give it a try.

50mm has been my bread and butter forever since the FD days, so I just bought it without thinking. Well, it's a completely different lens on a 20/30D so I'm selling it or would like to do a straight trade for an 85mm 1.8 in excellent condition.

It is in immaculate condition. I've used it maybe... 4 times? Comes with the canon hood, which is also in great condition but has a few marks from being in my bag a couple times. I have the original box too.

Just a couple test shots I've taken shows it's a freaking sharp lens. Here is a shot, completely unaltered, straight out of camera. Just zoom right into the centre, which is where I focused:

ok, here are some pics of the actual lens.

So bear with me, I don't own an EF macro lens...

Focus test @ F/1.4:

Added extra batteries and did not refocus. As you can see, focus is spot on:

Why spend the extra for a new one from B&H and pay for shipping/GST when you know this one is barely used and you know is sharp and focuses properly.

C$400 including expedited shipping.
C$385 for local edmonton pickup

Will cost you well over $500 at The Camera Store for lens and hood and GST.

When you say "expidited shipping" does that mean you will be in calgary? :)

I have had my eye on that lens and hear only good things about it. What is so different about using it on a 30D? I was planning to upgrade in the near future to a 30D for the Rebel XT.

Yes, I will be in calgary to shoot a wedding on the 24th. If interested, maybe we could meet up on my way in or out of town.

It is a fantastic lens. It's different on a 30D coming previously from full 35mm frame. On a 30D, it's gives the field of view of about 80mm. I never used 80mm when on film, so it was just an awkward focal length to me. Going from an XT to 30D will show no difference on this lens.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
