Well first off to change a taillight bulb they want to charge her an hours labour. Her type 2 service is due which includes oil change, changing 2 filters, fuel system clean etc and they are charging 500. She JUST got an oil change from them 6 months ago and paid around 140 dollars so I asked if we can just do a type 2 service minus the oil change to make it cheaper and they said they can BUT they will NOT reset the computer since she is not getting the complete service. They also wouldnt throw in changing the bulb for free if she got the complete service. What a bunch of dicks if you ask me.

So you can buy a mercedes... and then complain about the high cost of maintaining it? Hmmm... If your that worried about money... do it yourself, but you still won't be able to reset the computer... unless the dealership does it.

Maybe he is talking about a C230 kompressor. In which case I can understand why maybe he is complaining about the high prices of getting the car serviced.

I should be, but i'm not

EDIT: Btw, thanks for that... I'm sure that we're all happy you had to bring up my honda, when we're talking about his MB... I still made a suggestion on what he could do...

Also, as a mod, aren't you supposed to uphold the Rules, not break them? #6

I'm ready for the flaming.

just cuz its a euro, doesnt mean it should cost an arm and leg to get work done, especially simple stuff like that. people just like to ripped folks who drive them off because they THINK they have a ton of cash to spend just cuz they own one. fucking crooks, youb be better off going to a specialist for REAL work and do the simple stuff your self.

My mechanic is excellent and specializes in BMW/Mercedes. He's honest too, which is a rarity in this industry.

PM me if you want information.

Dealership service is usually always more expensive. People should really research their cars/company before they buy and determine what the actual cost of ownership is in the long run, instead of complaining when they need something done and finally find out that it's something they can't do. What did you expect when you bought a Mercedes, just because it was 'cheaper' doesn't mean it is cheap to service.

What year C230 is it? 2 or 4 door? how many kms on the car? Which dealer are you talking about?

To change a litghtbulb took me about 3 minutes to figure out, the tailights cost about $2 from MB dealer. Open the trunk, there should be a panel behind the light you can remove, usually all the lights are on one relay so you snap out that one relay with a couple clips you puch in. Then you will see a relay with 4 bulbs or so on it, remove the approproate bulb and reinstall everyhting

As 20incheyes stated, please tell us which dealership you're going to...The guys at Hyatt are usually quite good. Do you go to Lone Star?
