The power "place" (It's called a fuckin substation dumbass)is just east of my house. We had the power out for a couple hours, not really a big deal.

It's true l8braker, with all the pot operations in and around my house and community, it's no wonder it happened...idiot:rolleyes:

All traffic lights were out on barlow from mcknight to at least 16 ave N. traffic lights on 16 ave and 19 st were dead. as well as memorial and deerfoot and many others. traffic jam and siren everywhere. some guy in a silver civic speed thru an intersection with dead lights almost hit me!
:thumbsdow

sigh, i was hoping of not having to do any work today, but alas, my company has this nice big CAT generator with enough gas to power the building for 24-36 hours in situations like this. no extra time off for me....

I highly appreciate the time and effort you took in order to further my development in vocabulary skills but due to the comment recieved, quote " It's called a fuckin substation dumbass " one was to think you were implying otherwise.

:poosie: lol I can talk big too ;)

haha not a problem bro atleast now I know what its called

It also caused roling power outages though out the grid, our back up generator kicked in 2 times for about 5 min a piece... the first time i went to go on, i had it shut down for a fluid level check, (store lost power for 20 seconds till i fired it up)

I was at the Wendy's(the power was on) by Sunridge and drove to Sunridge and there was no power in the inside. I couldn't figure out wtf was going on. I drove down on 36st and all the lights were working, but when I got to Marbourgho Mall there was no power there too. I was thinking the terriorest are plotting to get us, haha yeah right. Drove down Memorial all the lights were out, and turned left onto Deerfoot from the Memorial overpass. Yeah that was a complete bitch, people don't know what a 4-way stop is(when lights are out its a 4-way stop). Instead of 3 cars going, 10 would go. Made it down to Chinook and it looked like it was the day before Christmas, there wasn't any place to park.

The news said that the reason why it happens was because the ice was melting on the lines and it tripped the breakers. Ah well another delightfull day in Calgary.

the ups battery backups in hospitals kick in almost instantanously so i don't think they would be needing to move people.
