Just went there last night actually. It was good. Appetizers are about $10-$15 each, they have an amazing meat and seafood platter appetizer for two which was $25. The entrees start at $29, and stop at $46 (there is about 9 of them). Between myself and my girlfriend, we had the platter, she had the chicken supreme, I had the trout and prawns, a coke, and two stella. The bill was $110.54

Yah pretty pricey IMO, plus wine is even more expensive than usual restaurants. A $15 bottle in a liquor store will cost you $50 at the tower.

Kirbs, how would you compare the food to the other restaurants? I've heard that their quality is not up to par with their prices.

The appetizer we shared was amazing, very very nice spread. It had duck, air dried buffalo, prossuto (lol spelling?) ham, and venison&beef sausage, with a berry chutney. For the seafod, it had seared scallopes, lemon peper salmon, and two other items I forget, with a lemon dill mustard. It was fantastic. My girlfriends chicken supreme was excellent, very rich in flavor. The only thing that was a little lacking was the trout portion of my meal. It was a little bland, and could have used a sauce or a different cooking technique. But the portions were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was terrific.

Awesome. River cafe has a similar appetizer platter, and I thought theirs was amazing too.

Maybe I'll go to the tower tonight...if we end up eating out.

Hmm Valentines Day?

Prices are pretty expensive at Calgary Tower but worth it, however there are alternatives, like Redwater on Macleod, I like them too their pretty good in terms of food also.

having worked there when I was younger I would never order anything more than a can of pop from there.

If you are planning on getting a reso for a decent resteraunt on the 14th, you are a few weeks late.

:werd: besides...if you've only been together for a month, you don't need to go anywhere too fancy. She's going to expect more come 3 months.

Anyway...rotten42: explain what you're saying. I'm curious.

i took the gf there a few times over the years and i have to agree that the food is not up to par with the pricing.. dont get me wrong, the food is good but as stated by others, there are alternative that have better food for the money.. but if you are looking for a place to sit and talk all night with the best view in the city.. its worth the money..

I love Centini's, but it's not a place to go if you're on a budget. Their dishes are incredible and their service impeccable. Being the culinary fiend that I am, I prefer a seat with a view of the kitchen, but for valentine's you might opt for something more private. I especially like their seared Ahi Tuna. Thinking of the tiramisu makes me drool. Good recommendation!

The Calgary tower is pretty dissappointing. However, if you can get one of the booths, this would more than make up for food that doesn't live up to the price.

Save your money...the food there is brutal.

I can't believe they charge what they do for the crap they produce.

Even if the food or prices aren't good, you can always have sex with your woman in the stairwell as a consolation prize.

I work nights. Where I work they have this security guard who is about 70 yrs old. One night when it was slow, he decided to tell me about all the freaky places he has had sex over the years. These places included athe calgary tower stairwell, a bank vault, Calgary zoo, etc. Guess this guy was a pimp back in his day.(pre world war 1) :bigpimp:

Night number 2 with family in town and we went to the tower. 5 of us, $335.00 no alcohol. one salad appetizer and a soup. 3 of us ordered the specials. Beef, stuffed with lobster pate with lobster tail on the side x 2 and a chicken stuffed with crab, cheese and ham. 2 kids meals and 3 desserts. The meal itself wasn't very good, but the view was fabulous. We hadn't ate their with our children before, they had a blast. Won't be spending that kinda coin on only average food again. But we had company from out of town that wanted to see the tower.

Heading there with a couple friends as a grad celebration. Think reservations are required for a Thursday (May 31)? Any specific seating location I should ask for like booth, window, etc....its for 6 people. Anyone try the striploin?

just kinda curious...restaunrant patrons get to access the tower for free? or do u have to pay entrance fee... the entrance fee was pretty steep and a waste of money for just a 10mins tour of the city view

Food is average at best... but the ambiance makes it a great place for a special occasion.

Godfauder - I'd make the reservation anyways... just in case

Restaurant patrons with reservations get 1/2 price off admission
