So I am trying to install my video card's newest drivers last night and I get this message:

"Set up was unable to complete this installation.
Try to set up your display adapter with standard VGA
driver before running set up"

It's never happened before and then when I turn my computer on this morning, my old drivers un-installed themselves!!

What caused this guys?

On some video cards, Before removing, it's advisable you change the driver to Standard VGA first. ATI's notorious for this.

What OS are you running?

Yeah it is ATI!

I'm running XP corp. version.

How would I change the VGA setting anyways??

Thanks Rage!

The proper way of changing the ATI video card is to follow this method (this is for Win2K, what I use here, don't have XP handy, but should be close) :

1. Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Display
2. Select Settings tab, clicke ADVANCED, then click on Adapter.
3. Click Properties, then click DRIVER.
4. Click Uninstall, click OK.
5. System will reboot, turn off system, replace card.
6. Install new drivers.

If you don't uninstall the ATI drivers first, no other video card will work in that system, regardless of what drivers you install. Shitty driver coding skills!
