I'm selling off my XL2 to pay off some debt. I bought at the end of September, so there's still 4 months of warranty left. I've only used it on 4 productions, so the heads have very little use on them. There has been a UV filter covering the front element since it was new. The camera still looks brand new.
I paid $5,500 for it new. I'm asking $3,500 for the camera and everything it comes with new (box, charger, remote, etc.). For and extra $300 ($3,800 total), I will include 3 of the huge Canon BP-945 batteries (good for 6 hours each) and a Canon 1.6x lens extender (for really long telephoto shots) a Tiffen polarizing filter and a Kata rain cover.
For those of you that don't know, this camera is as good as it gets for MiniDV cameras. This camera is used a lot in reality TV shows and documentaries. It was also the camera used to shoot the movie 28 Days Later. It's a 3 CCD progressive scan camera, and can shoot in 60i, 30P and 24P. The lens is a 5.4-108mm L lens with IS and you can even preset zoom or focus points on it so rack between them. It produces very beautiful images and you have full control over the colors, whites and blacks like you'd expect from any professional camera. I can provide some examples of work from the camera to anyone interested. This thing also turns a lot of heads when you take it out of the case.....but what really matters is that creates amazing work.
