i have seen the aluminum crank pulleys and they are lighter then the stock ones so i was wondering since cf is strong would it be possible to make a pulley out of that?

it'd be pretty dang hard to make a pulley from CF...
how would u lay it in the mold?

with aluminum (or any other metal/alloy for that matter) they just melt it and pour it into a cast... i don't quite think CF can do that...

CF could be made in any shape.

You could make a CF crank pulley but I am not sure how strong it will be.

CF is not strong in all directions like you would need a pulley to be.

Why the fuck would you want a CF crank pulley. Lets put it this way, I wouldnt want a CF anything under my hood. CF is good for interior mods and exterior, but keep it the HELL away from your engine....

If you are looking for weight reduction, remove your back seat, passenger seat, and all the interior paneling from your car. That will make you go fasta.

FYI: Most pulleys aren't cast aluminum. They are CNC machined from a billet.

The billet was originally extruded from molten aluminum and is much higher quality than if some Mom and Pop performance shop had cast it themselves.
