Anybody know if you can buy the "brain" (the part that gets installed in the dash) of a deck without the faceplate?

The girlfriends car got stolen a while back and she still has the face plate off her deck and its in great shape but the brain was stolen with the car.

Anyone know if you can get them? where? and is it even worth the money/hassle?

Probaly not even worth your money or the hassle. Your better off buying a new deck. Probaly cost you the same amount to replace the unit completely than to just by the "brain." Anyway GL.

Probably just find someone who has their plate stolen?

Sorry, can't really think of anything besides buying a new one.

It's probably not worth the time for what you'll save. I guess you could get one from the manufacturer but they'll charge you MSRP, so you'll probably end up paying more for it then a new complete one would actually sell for at the store.

Depending on the type of deck. I know you can order from Pioneer just peices. On the US site it even lists prices. Dunno if that helps. Probably not worth it tho as the faceplate is the cheapest part of the deck.
