Opinions needed, good and bad please..

I've seen the unit at Canadian Tire for like $45? Or online at a US store, I think, for like $129

Stupid idea.

Windshield washer comes with antifreeze in it for a reason.

well the main problem is that everyone is too impatient to let their car warmup so they can defrost their windows so they come up with even stupider ideas to try and solve that issue lol

Yeh don't buy it... there's a reason why they don't make it in vehicles cause it's worst! and you get what you paid for... for $45 that's gonna wreck your car.

Wrong mo-fucka GM put it in the Buick Lucerne like last year and I believe one of their trucks or suvs.

Also how the fuck is it gonna wreck your car? the worst it will do is crack your windshield...

Cracking your windshield...

^ is that not wrecking your car? To me it is... but we all have different understandings of the term "wreck"...

I just wouldn't put it in my car though... and GM is pretty dumb to put that in a car like it gets pretty cold here in Calgary I couldn't imagine up north...

If you have an existing window chip or imperfection, it would possible extend the crack.

Audi's, BMW's and most more expensive cars come with heated washer sprayers, so I doubt it has an adverse effect on the windscreen. I doubt they heat the fluid to near boiling and the windscreen itself is a thick piece of glass compared to what you drink out of.

The sprayers themselves are heated not the fluid coming out.

i have it stock on my new avalanche.. and well it's cool to say you have it.. useless. You push the button.. wait 1-2 minutes (-20 or so) it steams and comes out in 20-30 second intervals 4 times. In that time I can easily get rid of the ice with washer fluid like any old car.

I must say washer fluid at 60C is a good advertisement.. just another feature they can add to make money.

wow now reading the thread more thoroughly.. cracked windshield? what the fuck? you people are retarded. I really love how poor people can try to justify anything they can't afford is crap.

:werd: Running heat for your defroster is the same thing or worse for the windshield than some hot water.

I've never had a problem with windshield washer anti-freeze freezing. Heated fluid is just a gimmick. I think it's a stupid idea.

I have one of those (new) hot wash units, and they don't really do much, I think it's a waste of money.

That is so the jets dont freeze..... the actually washer fluid is not heated. The washer fluid is as warm as the ambient temperature, but not frozen due to the anti-freeze agent.
