I need 2-3 more players, season starts in early may, outdoor

www.cusa.ab.ca for details

Already have 16 ppl for the team, with 18 ppl fees will be roughly 180 a person, since it's a new team it'll be starting in div 6.

You should maybe mention the sport. Lacrosse? Football? Soccer?

(I know its most likely soccer, but some people might not).

Details: -

Outdoor, part of Calgary United Soccer Association
18 games
1 game/ week
practices are whenever we want really
positions dont matter, all welcome
Fees depend on how many ppl we hav to split amongst
total is $3268.00, so 18 ppl will mean 180 each, and then about 45 for jerseys.
It's a new team, so we'll be starting in div 6, but we'll be outta there soon, first place in the league gets to go up two divs.

how about age range/skill level?

^^

I'm interested, and used to play competitively yearly in both outdoor and indoor with the Chinooks until this thing called University got in the way. I havent played soccer (or even ran) in a while though, so my conditioning is probably gone to shit.

Last time I joined a team where I didnt know the people before hand, I ended up on a team with about 2-3 good guys and the rest a bunch of clowns who just kick the ball as hard as they can every time they get a touch.

As Palmiros asked, what is the team skill level? Do you know most the guys on it? And if the team is decent, and we are in div 6, are we going to end up playing against senoir citizens and goofs? Winning 10-0 every game is only fun for a bit.

Skill level is decent, i got the idea from some of my little brotehr's friends who have an indoor team for div4 or 3, and most of the team can outplay those kids, of course theres 5 or 6 that are really outstanding, most are still pretty decent, 2 that are works in progress.
Either way ill assure that they're all determined and see it thru.

Lol. I wouldn't worry about that.

On a serious note, my resistance/condition right about now would probably not be very good, but I'm always determined and let's say i'm not skill-less. :>
Good idea by the way..

Schedule is a game a week, not yet determined when (they do it after they know how many teams there will be).

Fees are 3268 in total, so it'll depend on how many players we have, but between 160-200 im guessing, right now at 180 each we';re good.
Let me know soon ppl

i could be pretty interested..i used to be awesome at soccer but haven't played (let alone done any running) for about 5 years haha

No max age on it, and the running thing isn't too big a deal, most players can play peak performance for maybe 23-25 mins, then start falling off, but we have unlimited substitutions so it's all good.

Hah! Good thing for the unlimited substitutions.
Since there is no age limit, maybe i'll send my nephew to play with you guys, he's 6. ;)

Thanks

(what's the last day you can accept new members?)

Oh, one more thing. Where would we play most of the matches?
How about the training?
(Which part of the city?)

last day would depend kinda, coz fees are due march 1st, but i'd really like to have all of that sorted asap.

Practices probly around university or hamptons since most of us live by there, but we can work around that.

Games have yet to be announced for location.

Frank, something I forgot to mention on the phone, my Aunt works at a sports store and would most likely be able to get us a mass quantity of jerseys for cheap. I'm not guaranteeing this but she's come threw in the past:D

Unless of course we have to buy through CUSA or something which would be gay

boostless
02-24-2007, 09:32 PM
Nope, we cna buy watever we want. That's sweet! Can she do names and numbers on the back?

msommers
02-24-2007, 09:42 PM
I can't see why not, they do that for hockey jerseys like flames and that. I'll ask about it once we get a confirmed number of people together.

Preferences on colors for home and away?

boostless
02-24-2007, 11:30 PM
Reversibles would be nice if possible? That way we just get one jersey for home and away.

Most of us are avid man utd fans so we've decided on red jerseys home, white away, and white shorts.

I owe CUSA 3000 dollars for spitting at a ref and kicking a soccer ball at him...So if you can somehow get those hearing fees waived im in LOL or if you have an extra card that is for a brown guy sitting around !!

boostless
02-25-2007, 11:36 AM
Lol i dont think i cna do much about that one, wow that sucks 3 grand for spitting on the ref?

I am not really worried about the max age, but I would liek to know the average age, I am getting up there and would hate to slow the younger guys down. I would love to play, just be nice to play with people my age.

boostless
02-25-2007, 04:52 PM
well we're all about 20-22, a few older ones, but none of us have any objections to older players :). If defense or a holding midfield is ok u dont need to run too much then...

boostless
02-25-2007, 06:48 PM

Not sure if you have yet, but it's a good idea to post it on the Team Information page in CUSA as well.. You'll get quite a bit of response from there too.

boostless
02-28-2007, 06:28 PM
does the team have to be registered by then? Apparently by march 16 is when they know if they accept all new teams or not, so not sure if i can do that yet, thanks though!
