so i was sick of having a missing mazda symbol up front, so i bought some mesh, and as a saturday diy project, i think it didn't turn out too bad.

here's the before pic

spray painting the grill black may make it look better IMO, its to silver for me.

Although you did a good job installing it,

To ricer though for that car, seems like you should be 16 cutting me off on MacLeod

not gonna lie, but it just doesn't work with a mazda or any kind. It just makes it look cheap

Looks like it's sitting right on the edge, is there any way you can push it in to give it a "dish" look?

hmmmm mabye i'll try that...do you think it would look better pushed back more? this was my first attempt at anything even close to this, and i did it all myself. it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but i'm happy with the results.

Pretty good job on it for doing it yourself! Definately looks different though!

I agree with the spray painting to black idea. It just sorta stands out right now, and not the stand out for good kind.

Sorry but IMO i think it makes it look cheap. It's sorta like the grills ricers put on their cars. I thought it looked better in your before picture. Maybe try painting it black so its not as obvious?:dunno:

that kind of grill looks good on cars with pronounced grills, like bentleys, mercedes, the new 300c.....i don't want to be an ass but i prefer the stock grill on your car; however it does look unique (all be it a little tacky)

It looks like a first time try by some highschooler who bought mesh from Crappy Tire and ghetto-rigged it on. Oh wait...

But seriously, I think your stock grille looks pretty pimp with the missing Mazda badge. All you needed to do was bondo the three holes, sandblast the chrome coating off the chrome trim, then paint the entire thing glossy black.

Your stock grill w/o the Mazda badge looks good. It'll look even better if you can complete take out the leftover Mazda shape.

I think it'd look better if it were painted black.. I also think it'd look better if you put a badge in it, either "626" or "v6" or whatever, or even the "mazda" word badge...

Yeah, I'm not digging it either.....only looks good on 300C

And if your lookin for that look, just dish out money for a real Strut grille

With the salt on our roads right now, your new grill should be rusty in no time!

Personally I don't mind it but agree with the others that it's too flashy for your car. Try a black coat on it and see how it looks.

The actual grill looks good, the color stands out too much for me. Would look tons better if you spraypainted it black. Wouldn't rust either...
