I know fd's and fc's have been imported and god knows how many skylines, silvias and 180 sx's have been brought in not to forget the many soarers and mr2's. But I don't seem to have seen any cosmo's anywhere's...With it having the dream engine of every rotory head out there you would think some people would rather import one of those than to pay god knows how much for the swap into an rx7...So my question is: did anyone have the balls to import a Cosmo??

When I went there was 2 sitting outside RX7 spec. but they looked broken down and beat....plus they actually dont have the dream engine, the 20B-REW only came into production in cosmo's in 1992...The previous cozzy's had 13bs..The 20b version should be legal for import now or soon i think.

I might consider a cosmo later on down the road. I just dont want automatic, and a manual swap is one of the only jobs that deters me for some reason.

Why pay all the money to drop a 20b in an FC or FD instead of just buying a cosmo?

Most wouldnt consider the Cosmo a sports car. Take an FD drop in a 20b, now your at the performance level of the Cosmo? Don't think so.

Obviously if they are imported into Canada, we can source them in Japan. So far, we've not had any inquiries...but there's always a first time!

:werd: also a 20b FC or FD would do cirlces around a cosmo in any type of competition except for comfort

but i mean can't disagree it wouldn't be nice to have a cosmo. wouldn't be hard to make wicked fast and still have comforts of a luxury car.

I've been in a couple, they are very nice indeed. The last one i was in had on oem full coulour TV with touchscreen controls, as well as all other functions for heater/vent controls. The interior is made of high quality leather with a lot of stlye. The engine and performance is also very impressive.

Ya I agree the Cosmo would be a nice car to toodle around in, and fast if you want. I was just pointing out that the markets for a cosmo, and a 20b FC or FD are TOTALLY different. You can't say "Why put a 20b in an FC or FD when you could just buy a Cosmo" If you don't understand why, you need to do some research.

no I understand why. On rx7club people sell 20b fd's for quite a bit of money. I see the performance aspect of it definintly because of the way rx7's are built as compared to a cosmo. I just think for most people a cosmo is actually attainable versus paying for a 20b swap which is astronomical in costs and reliability. But my dream car is and always will be a 20b powered fd. One of these days hehe. Now that would be a fun car to toodle around in haha.

i know a few people whove had them and have nothing but trouble getting parts for a cosmo through mazda so they got rid of them
