I am looking either for some definate knowledge of two particular Jetta Comparisons, OR a good website that can get me the information.

I would like to know the Horsepower rating on a 2002 Jetta Wolfsburg, as well as a 2004 1.8T (loaded)

On top of that I would like to know and have confirmed the fuel economy for both.

So far I have:

02 Wolfsburg = 55L Tank....150HP 155ft/lb torque
04 1.8T = 55L Tank....180HP 174Ft/lb torque

I'm up against a know it all at work that claims to say the 1.8T is 110 HP  and that his Wolfsburg is pullin 750 Kms per tank in the city with 200 Hp.

I've let him roll in his own shit cloud of glory feeling he rocks the VW world, but the next time he brings it up, I would like to have hard facts. The 1.8T is my Gfs car and I have not followed up into it's own specs.

Just a quick reference from some experienced folk would suffice!!

Cheers

AWD - 2000 model year on golf/jetta/gti
AWW - 2001 model year on golf/jetta/gti/wolfsburg
AWP - 2002 model year on golf/jetta/gti/337

Only the 2002+ models came with the 180HP engine the AWD and AWW engines came with the 150HP engine.

As for km on a 1.8T, i would guess it would be anywhere from 300-500 depending on how you drive

'01 Jetta = 150 hp
'02 Jetta = 180 hp

I had an '01 and got about 470km per tank city/highway combined on premium fuel.

EDIT: If he's really being a knot-head, get the engine code of his cylinder head (underneath the engine cover) and have him phone a VW dealership and ask what the horsepower rating is. The engine code is the AW stuff listed in the post before this. It's definite knowledge ;)

thanks man.
So basically you are agreeing with the info I found on my 5 minute google hook up?

The 1.8T gets approximately 400-450kms per tank in the city.

Yeah. You're right. You should be able to smash the idiot.

As an edit, if he's claiming 250 horsepower, he'd have to have a turbo kit and your fuel economy would drop. In 2002+ years, the VR6 came with 200 horsepower. I think before that they had 180 horsepower, but it still is a far cry from 250.

I have just learned that the only difference between both cars is interior options only on the wolfsburg. (concept 1 FTW)

Same engine etc, same 180hp out put etc.

All in all the guy is an idiot. Not even worth bringing to his attention that he is wrong. If he brings it up again like he does when he feels the need for a bit of attention, then maybe will I settle the VW HP debate at that time.

If it's not the car issue, it will be something else with people like him.

My curiousity has been solved.

Thank you guys!

Wolfie has a GTI interior....and BBS rims, and I think GTI suspension too, but I could be wrong on that.

?? Thats the point of a wolfsburg....Not recaro's but GTI seats....Every one I've seen had them, even the Jetta TDI sports had them...strange if true
