I built a new media center using Vista home prem. 32-bit and im having trroubles networking it to a XP home machine.
I named my network "Network" and named the PC's "Gaming-PC" and "Media-Center"...
My shaw modem goes into a router, which goes to my gaming-PC.. That same router has a cable that goes to my home theater area. There is another router behind my home theater which goes to my vista media center and to my xbox 360 as well.. The xbox 360 and the Vista media center both see the internet no problem, as well as each other.. The gaming-pc and vista machine dont see each other?
I've taken off the router at my theater so both machines are plugged into the d-link router now... still cant get them to talk to each other.. File sharing is on both, they're both "discoverable" on the network..
Any suggestions?
