Any one ever owned around a 95 320i 5spd? Are they good cars? I know more about the new bmws but not the older. What are they like for repairs? matiance? Quality and reliability? hp rating?

Thanks Fellas your always a big help.

148HP 140 TQ if I remember correctly. Will be expensive if electronics start to fail such as climate control, trip computer, etc. I cannot speak for its reliability.

Still a good car but for the money you could probably get a Inline 6 instead of a 320i 4banger.

^ 4 to 6 is night and day (test drove both when I was looking around). With spring coming, a lot more are coming on the market, especially in the last few weeks. You should be able to lock down a good 1997+ 328 for a pretty reasonable price.

Guys, the E36 320i has an inline 6cyl engine. Nice smooth little engine but not good for aftermarket support and power potential. If you want more power start with a 325 or 328!

I own a 2001 320i and trust me it's a headache in terms of the aftermarket... because there just isn't much for it out there and if I were to put in a SC i'd have to heavily mod it. Other than that it's always fun, and a great thing to do... if you want to spend the $$$ on it... or else buy a M3 with that modding money.

My advice is get a 325i or a 330i.
