86 corolla hatchbacks info

what comes in a standard 86 toyota corolla. are they front wheel or rear wheel drive. any other info would be helpful, always been a fan of the light weight of the corolla/ tureno models. if you could please help i'm just getting into imports.

rwd, 16v dohc 1.6L inline 4. 5 speed.

He never said anything about a AE86, he just said standard corolla. The only rolla in that gen that came in standard (std) trim was the AE82 (fwd) or the AE84 (4wd). Unless he wanted to know about the GTS or the SR5 then both are rwd.

I guess, The old corolla my family owned back in the day was a 4 door hatch (liftback). It was also sold as the chevy nova.
