I am painting my car, and I have no idea where to look for a gunmetal paint code.

If anyone knows any, please let me know. Thanks!

type down Gunmetal
and click search it will show you all types of gunmetal colors from various car companies and models and you can find the paint code on the right han dside.

I've decided on Mercedes Tectite Grey, but I need a paint code now. Any ideas on where I can find this?

Choose Pewter, it's a new '03 Mercedes Color on the C and SLK classes. Very very nice.

Rage is that the bronzish looking colour??? I saw an SLK230 with a really interesting colour last week I think, it really stands out.

did you try the dealer? call the parts department they should be able to tell you .. if not theres always those fancy brochures .. thats where i got mine from BMW ..

No, it's a pewter looking color :). Think of those pewter medieval style door handles at the high roller houses hehe.

Refer to this post and the 4th picture for the color that I really want. I would hate to give the guy the wrong paint code!

(Just to make sure, the 4th pic is the S500 two door with that beautiful grey that was taken in daylight)

I was under the impression that pewter was a light grey, while the tectite was dark. There is a lot of confusion in that thread, which is why I want to make sure.

You mean the SL500 :)

Now that the colors are official (as opposed to having zero information back then), the SL500 looks like it's Tealite Blue.

Probably the latter, since Tealite Blue isn't available on the SL class. And the first 2 pictures is Tectite Grey. The 3rd picture (SLK) is definately Pewter.

And to clarify (confuse?), here is another sample of tectite gray.

Don't really like the pewter silver, and my car is gray stock, so I want a shade of gray so people don't think that my car has been hit/written off or something.

It's neither. Check the link at the top that Lammer provided. They are both much too blue to be the SL500 I think - the SL500 still seems grey but maybe the way the light hits it?
