Anybody know where I can print off 65,000 pages of text?

(Yes, I am aware of how costly it will be.)

$100 would have around 4000 page yield, 5000 if you're lucky. @ 65K, that's $1300 for toner. Consumer grade printer won't cut cost down. Plus the cost of energy, time and paper, it's cheaper to take it to a pro.

Or just leave it in electronic format... :dunno: nowadays you don't really need to print much

If it's low quality text, you want to do it yourself at home and want the absolute cheapest way to print it then use an impact printer. It'll be noisy as hell, but that is by far the lowest cost per page you're going to get

Lots of the major printing companies will be able to do this for you. And it will be cheaper the DIY haha. 65k sheets at home on a shitty home printer haha! You'd fry the damn think.

Ah just send the first 100 pages JPEG and then hopefully whoever is receiving it gets bored and forgets the rest of the pages

Get people you know to print out portions of it that you assign them. The number of pages will be just enough to nearly deplete their ink cartridges, but not entirely. That way you pay them an insanely cheap amount and they don't find out it doesn't cover the actual ink used until they print some more and find it dry. :)

Go into work on the weekend and print away?

Other than that, I'm curious as what would require 65,000 pages also.

when i worked for a mobile phone company in hong kong last year, every month we print off about 12-14 boxes (approx. 65000 sheets) of invoices for around 100 companys....that's approx 20 000+ cell phone invoices. i'm sure the large printing companies will be able to do it.

You're probably looking at around 3 - 4 cents per page if its B&W. (Roughly $1900 - $2600 + gst) Color...good luck! That'll be expensive. I worked in the printing business for years. You're best bet is a bigger business like Riley's. Smaller shops charge quite a bit I have found. Try and make it double sided though...

Yep, you're right. I got an quote of around $2800. Its black and white and double sided.

Edit: I also edited the text size in the document, resulting in a fair reduction in pages.

I got a better idea for you.. it's probably morally wrong but not illegal. Photocopier companies like Xerox / Konica Minolta / Canon / Toshiba will do free trials of their copier machines... so here's what you do:

1) Call one of the companies from you work, act interested in a copier... Look for a machine thats 20-30K in cost as this is the biggest that they usually lend out for trials.

2) Waste an hour of the sales persons time, they will want to do a demo and give you a quote, they'll try to hard close you.. simply tell them that your doing in house demos on 3 machines and its going to a "panel" who will be looking at the pro's and con's and making their descission accordingly.

3) When you take delivery of the unit, check the contract that they make you sign, usually there is no mention of a limit of copies.

4) When they leave click --> file --> open --> print and get ready to do mad dashes to the copier every 20 minutes or so to move the mountains of paper.

5) You will probably not be able to print off all 65K on one machine, they may or may not catch on to what your doing when you call and say the toner is empty so you might get the first half on a xerox and the second half on the minolta the next week.

You just printed it for free, well, almost.. you'll have to buy the paper.

What can I say? I'm a cheap bastard..

Enjoy.

Wow, is it that inconceivable that he is printing 1000 copies of a 65 page document? Why does everyone assume that it is one document?

A 3 day seminar with 330 people per day and you are printing that much or more.
