The first Bugatti Veyron to bite the dust... a very sad day indeed. Looks like the driver was ok...:dunno:

Love the first comment "that'll buff right out"
Poor car... But things happen. It would eventually happen anyways, but I assume there be a huge cry out of "it's a supercar, don't drive it in the rain" vs "it's awd, and no one wants a garage queen"
But we'll see what happens
PS: +1 for no garage queen, at least the guy was enjoying his car.

Sad to see, but looks like the driver was fine.
I'm actually glad to see that this was a normal kind of accident and wasn't one where the guy tried to take it to its top speed, which ends with the car being unrecognizable, and the driver dieng, like many Ferrari/Lambo accidents you hear/see on the net.

Ouch. I was wondering when one was going to eat it.
I'd also be very curious to know what the extent of the damage was.

What's with the people and saying if he can afford the car, he can afford to fix it. Just because people have money, doesn't mean they like to spend it unnecessarily. :banghead:
Wouldn't insurance pay for the damage, anyway?

I shudder to think of what his insurance is on that car anyway.

Imagine the insurance rates on that sucker. Especially after the accident. Clearly the guy can afford it but it's probably more to insure it than most of us make in a year.

well of course insurance is gonna pay for it. the funny thing is that his yearly premium is more than the cost of any of our cars

its not so cut and dry, thats like saying you could afford to buy a 20k car, and then smash it and have 15k of damage and shrug it off..
Insurance will cover it unless he doesn't have collission...
IF he doesn't have collission, he's paying the same rates as us!

Most likely, insurance will not pay for this. The owner knows better than that!
Maybe things are different in Europe, but in NA, VERY few exotics that are damaged go through insurance for repairs. Insurance is only for the most extreme cases (total loss, fatal crash etc).
It would be stupid to make an insurance claim for $200,000 worth of damage; it would cost more than that in premium increases over the next few years.

So the owners brother was driving it haha. And he was boosting his ego by claiming it was his car before he crashed it. And apparently the brother who owns it was not happy at all (obviously).

If my brother totalled my $2 million car I'd be pissed too.

:thumbsdow
I wonder how it feels to have crashed a car that cost $7,500,000 to build. I bet the Volkswagen engineers are all over it though just because the only crash data they have is from a controlled environment.
