I just went to vw.ca and got quoted $38520 for a brand new GLI with every option possible... That with GST is still lower than $41000.

thanx bennyhanna and yes thats why it is a little higher and also a full load gli plus pdi, des, air/tire tax + gst is aprox $40,200 and that is also why the price is (OBO)
