Some F^&king a$$ broke into my wives truck last night, ripping and I mean RIPPING out the cheap JVC deck we had in it. They took $100 cash that was in her jacket, and who knows what else...

The truck was parked 5 spots from the front doors and with the new smoking bylaws people are outside smoking quite regularly. Was anyone up there last night? Our guess is that it must of happened after hours as the lot was clearing... who would have the balls to do this when people are coming and going...? And didn't you see the 2 child seats in the back indicating that maybe this is a family vehicle and you should pick on someone else.

It's a white 98 Jimmy. They must have had a slim-jim or something because there is no sign of entry except the drivers side door lock is stiff now. Once in the trashed in the inside and literally ripped the console apart and teared teh deck right out.

If you young ass punks think you are that hard up that you need to steal a deck from someone because you think you're cool just beware... If I ever saw someone ripping off a car, mine or someone else's, be prepared for a serious can of whoop-ass to be unleashed on you.
/end rant. :banghead:

anyway, My wife is a waitress up there, and this is not what you would expect, but I guess, no-one is safe...

Thanks buddy,

Oh and if you want the remote to the stereo you stole, just PM me, and I can get it to you...

That's harsh man. Especially since it hits so close to home... in two different respects. One being I live 2 minutes away, and the other is I had a 98 Jimmy that got broken into four times in a six month span back in Winnipeg. It got so ridiculous that I stopped locking it and stopped fixing the door handle.

You know the funny thing is they took about $100 in cash from my wife;s jacket, and left $20...

Thanks guys...

You've got some nerve to do this in a clear public place.

All seriousness aside though... now that I've thought this over...

I hope the guilt of stealing a $60 deck (got it used at a g-sale) and some cash is worth it. You must have needed it more than me. If life sucks so bad you need to resort to defacing and destroying someone else's property so you can sell it for what..? $50 can you even get that... maybe if you took the remote too.

Oh, and my wifes boots...? You had to take them too? WTF man?

LOL...

I now have a new hero...

/sarcasm.

I'd laugh if the thief actually did take you up on the offer. Y'know what... why don't you give it a serious go?

Take the remote, put a classified ad in the paper, advertise the remote for "any JVC deck" and see what you get. Do you remember if the deck had any definitive markings, or do you have the serial number?

I am debating now to claim this through our insurance.

Can anyone help me quailify weather it is worth it or not??

They tried to get in on drivers side so door lock (or inside mechanics) of the lock could be replaced.
The pass. door lock was punched in, need replacing.
Both vanity mirrors were ripped out/broken.
The dash/trim molding was ripped out (some broken tabs and such and will need replacement.
All the gauges and knobs work so I don't know if they'll work or clip back in.
Plus the stereo was stolen (JVC Mp3 deck, flip up, removable w/remote)

Thia is what it looked like the next AM:

I have no clue what it might cost to fix... so this is why I am considering it. Plus these parts could be a pain to find to DIY...

Any help guys?

So my question stands... does anyone care to venture what it might cost to fix this??
