weaksauce draft eh, lol, ya theres alot of weak players in the junior hockey/ college hockey this year. The players being drafted are better and better all the time.

Edmonton pays more taxes then all the US teams combined. They cant afford Ryan Smith, I agree, its sucks they got rid of him, but if they cant come to a deal by summer, they would have got nothing for him. When you can build a team around 3 young upcoming superstarts your only paying 800k a peice, its makes sense in the long run.

It took Calgary 10 years to build there team. Bottom line is there on a budget. Trading a guy like Ryan Smith, when the other team knows you have to get rid of him, there gonna low ball you and low ball you, Kevin Lowe had to pick future talent, hes been around the game longer then most of us have been alive. Im a big oilers fan too, its sucks i know, but if they were gonna get nothing for him, it had to be done.

Islander are making there first playoff run in how many years? They have tons of money, Ryan Smith is just stacking a already great lineup.
