if you are on a router, try unplugging the router for a minute and plug it back in.

Not on this computer but on my laptop yes.
Both are fucking slow. Download speeds of 40kb/s max from websites I normally get 300-400 from.
a 4 minute clip took 30 minutes to buffer.

Do you have the new vertical black modem that has 4 solid green lights?

Or one of the old flat gray or white ones that have 3 solid greens?

If you have the new one, you likely have issues getting a good cable signal to it. If you have the old one it's dying on you.

either way, book a service call to fix it for free.

Someone stealing your wireless? Did you lock your wireless router down?

I can see people trying to latch on to my wireless router from time to time.

Okay guys it was even slower today so I unplugged everything and plugged it back in and everything seems to be ok so far. Speeds are still not as fast but that's expected with a stupid router. What is a good router that does not restrict your internet so much? I have a DI-524 and it is honestly quite shitty. Also, I know this has been covered but is it worth it to go to shaw and trade my modem in for the new one?
Thanks for all the help guys.

your DI-524 might be dying?
I've had mine for the past 10 months and no problem atm.

Well my problem with the super slow internet is fixed. But what I hate about the DI is the fucking firewall built in that does not let SHIT through. I know this is the case with most routers but in my games my ping jumped from 30's to 200!!! And I freaking opened all my ports already. I don't know wtf is wrong, it's probably my n00bness owning me constantly.
