View Full Version : Spotted: Blue & Orange Ford GT-40

I saw a Ford GT-40 down near Bridlewood this evening.
It was blue with orange stripes. I didn't get a pic but this is probably one of the most rare cars to see

The weirdest thing was that it was right hand drive!?

most likely a kit car, cause the original ford gt40's where RHD

Kit car GT40's are both right and left hand drive but the orginal GT40's are right hand right shift drive.

Some people spend BIG coin converting RHD cars to LHD and vice versa.

In Australia, there is a company that will (for a nominal fee) convert your Chevrolet Corvette to RHD... the dash looks exactly like the one in the production model (actually better, according to some), but it's RHD.

I'd look up some pictures of original Ford GT-40s and compare them to that. I don't think that's an authentic GT-40.

That's a CAV GT40. Local owner.

There is also a new Ford GT delivered in Calgary this winter in the same Gulf livery.

I saw that ford GT on Shag a couple months back.


I don't know if thats a real one or a kit car, but it looks pretty real to me. The kit cars are getting pretty popular, and the real GT 40 is getting more and more rare.

Are you sure you saw the gt-40 and not the ford gt. Cause my neighbour has a ford gt in the baby blue and orange but its a newer model.

This is the one ive seen in calgary in the NW and i saw it in his garage......
