doubt they win. can't remember the law, but ebay is covered by it as well. so long as they take down the unauthorized material when requested, they're good to go.

That justifies the lawsuit further.

Viacom is claiming that Youtube was only successful because it was using their copywritten material as the primary draw to the site.

they are seriously worried about youtube taking away cable tv viewers?

Okay seriously id rather sit on my couch than watch episodes of tv shows on youtube. and im not even going to talk about the quality of video/audio difference of cable tv and youtube.

No kidding... I hope google wins this one, just because of the sheer idiocy if this... tv > youtube... I like youtube to share foreign video clips and music videos as well as home made stuff.... :drama:

Sure its not a TV replacement... Viacom isnt claiming this.

Viacom is suing based on the fact that Youtube essentially made BILLIONS by using videos that they didnt have the right to use.

Youtube would be far less successful had all of the videos been homemade movies, public domain or those retarded video blogs that some people post.
