303 aerospace protectant. It has sunscreen in it which prevents fading. You can get it at CT. I've been using it since I got the car and got quite a few comments at the last meet about how black my top is.
After a car wash (soap + rinse) spray it on the top and take a rag and just spread it around.
You might want to wipe your glass again since the spray does leave smudge marks on glass.

Went to Canadian Tire by Southland Train Station and apparently this stuff is discontinued and I tried looking for the other brands that have been mentioned and I came up with absolutely nothing. Went to Walmart too and zilch.
Where do you guys buy your products from?:dunno:

Auto Value carries 303.
I called them approximately 2 weeks ago to confirm and they run a little shy of $14 a bottle.
Edit: Picked it up for just under $8 a bottle at Auto Value, NE.

I'm looking to replace my old soft top with a new one and i'm wondering how useful rear defrost is in the S?
I'm under the impression that because the S has such a small cabin that the interior would warm up quicker so i might be able to live without the rear defrost.(Not saying in anyway that it's a viable replacement, i'm just wondering if i can live without)
But i wouldn't know first hand.

Well, I took the S out to the track earlier this evening. I sort of know why it lost to the boxster and Z4 on that comparo episode of Top Gear. The thing has vey limited traction and becomes overly sensitive on a wet track. When she starts to slide she really slides (in circles)! Despite the rain and cold, it was fun.
Has anyone noticed that after a few laps that their exhaust system get louder and louder? Even during the cool down lap/ not driving hard it sounded super load. The sound become normal again after the car has cooled. Is i just my exhaust (toda) or is it normal for all aftermarket systems?

The thing with the s2000, is that it is very easy to address the issues you were having with a pretty simple formula. The differences can be seen immediately, and probably more notably in an AP1. It was snowing/raining/cold out there tonight, so I'm sure traction was an issue for all cars.
A decent aftermarket suspension, 255f/255r tires (which have good wet traction ratings too) and a big wing. For an AP1, perhaps a larger front sway bar will help and anti-bumpsteer kit.
In regards to the exhaust, I notice mine drones a bit louder after a few laps (when I'm doing my cooldown lap), but other than that it doesn't change. I wouldn't be too concerned.

Suspension and tires should help with that oversteer as well lowering your tire pressure on those cold days. Like I previously mentioned the drone is worse with a softtop, overall how was track day?
drifttube123

Overall it was fun. Surprisingly, there were at least 10 cars that showed up. We didn't bank or follow the ideal lines because of the rain. Jay showed us the "rim", technique, still the S seemed to drift on demand (I'm not smooth enough). The track was dominated by a couple of Evos; their AWD really helped.
My buddy and I switch cars, he has a Dinan chipped 335 (M package). That thing is fast, he hit 225 down the straight with the wet surface and early braking (my best was 192 with the S, too scared.). His car was so much more forgiving and was able to put the power to the ground. I think I was entering corner one about 15km faster than with my S. With that said, the S was still more fun and involved to drive.
Anyways spun out twice, no one hurt (except my ears), had the second loudest car there (1st was an Evo, that shot out flames.) and planning to do it again on a dry track.

Well, that wasn't as unpleasant as I had expected; however it is always heart pounding when I cut into my car in some way, shape or form!
In any case, got my wideband gauge mounted where I wanted, but still have to wire up the o2 sensor and control unit. I'm just too tired to do it at the moment! Here are some photos and this is absolutely one job I really don't want to do again! Oh yeah, and I still have use of the volume and channel buttons.

Does anyone have AJR side diffusers (V2, heavier) stalled a "tracked" car? My buddy seems think that due to the vibration and body flex (and thin rockers) of the car on the track that diffusers will eventually fall off. Any experiences or input would greatly appreciated

A few question for those who track their S. I have recently added a seibon (Mugen style) wing to my AP1. Going on the front straight (Race City), I noticed a significant difference (seems like the car is struggling after 175) in getting to my trap speed before braking. I believe I hit about 195-200 yesterday with wing and have hit about 210-215 without. Would this sluggishness be due to the wing alone or should I get the S tuned up?
What brake pads are people using for the track? Again on the front straight, braking from trap speed to about 120ish, I noticed fade after 4 laps. I have no idea what brand of pads or rotors (vented and cross drilled) I currently have (came with the car). I do have ss brakelines (Gruppe S) installed/ new fluid.
TIA
Just bought an 06 GPW used, and was wondering if there's a place similar to SGP (SubaruGenuineParts) for the S - basically a place where I can buy parts cheaper than from the dealers themselves and have it shipped USPS to me.
Checked HandA, HardTopGuy, and other references from S2ki but they don't seem to be willing to ship to Canada..
Looking for things like air/engine/oil filters, Shin-Etsu, and other maintenance items.
Also possibly looking for an OEM AP2 lip and/or OEM hardtop, depending on price (dealer quoted me $6,800 for the hardtop, which I think is way too much).
Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I'm pretty new, but it's nice to see such an enthusiastic group of s2k lovers, me being one of them :D A while back, some asshole at my girlfriend's I think, backed out of the parking stall and pretty much scraped my rear bumper. Took off some of the paint, popped a few clips in the back, and drove off. It wasn't enough to warrant a police call, but I'm stuck with this big scratch on my rear bumper, and there's some misalignment with the rear bumper. Guy even got out smudged the scratch with his hands. I'll try to get pics up, but any suggestions? I'm really at a loss here, not to mention heartbroken :( Car's black so it hides it fairly well, but once you know its there you see it all the time.
PS. slick ride shadow, think I saw you on Macleod the other day

TIA
Sounds about right. With the wing on my car, I was looking at about 200 km/h max speed before braking into turn one. I do have different gearing from you though, so you might be able to get a few more km/h's than me. With my GT wing it's about the same.

Also possibly looking for an OEM AP2 lip and/or OEM hardtop, depending on price (dealer quoted me $6,800 for the hardtop, which I think is way too much).
Thanks in advance!
I can sell you an OEM AP2 lip painted rio yellow. Will need a nice sand-down and repaint and it'll be as good as new.

PS. slick ride shadow, think I saw you on Macleod the other day
Sounds like you're just going to have to get it repainted. Black is easy to match, so you should be good to go without paying too much.
