Do they help with unsprung weight by much or are they just for *BLING*?

Well for those who are majorly concerned with shedding pounds on the car it will eventually add up, but mostly for visual appeal and strength

I never liked the whole "JDM" S2K look. As far as I am concerned, all those clear corners do is take a LOT of contrast out of the look of the car.
Other pics are looking great though!

EDIT: I was also reading on S2Ki about valve adjustments. I've had my car for a few months now and I am thinking of doing a DIY VA, anyone else done this who can give me some tips?
Also, what kind of fluids do you guys all use? How can I tell whether the my current oil is synthetic or regular?

Thanks :D

Well mine is a full housing oem jdm replacement, but you can easily buy new reflectors which are clear but it is a lot more work

Just did a quick Calculation for you:

I get about 420 KM per tank, let's call it 400 KM on average. That's about 250 miles.
Every fill up is about 42 L, which is about 11.1 galons.

so I did 250 miles/11.1 galons and I got 22.5 MPG city.

Call that 23 MPG and it's pretty accurate, according to most websites the S is supposed to get 20 MPG city, though this is the AP2 so I don't know how that would affect the numbers.

EDIT: AP1 Test

Our test S2000 averaged 23.2 mpg on required premium fuel.

The guy said he would, he said shipping would be 50-75 bucks, which is kinda low but seems alright, duties shouldn't be more than 120 bucks, but I might do the shipping to the border and driving to get it trick. I still want AP1 though...

How is the S2000 compared to the Nissan 350Z.

I am looking to get in to one of these and just getting some other peoples opinions. thanks.

Can the S2000 or 350Z be drivin in winter conditions if needed.

shadowz
05-04-2007, 01:39 PM
Ive driven both, the Z is more luxurious and has a lot of torque compared to the s2000, but it doesnt feel as nimble very sloppy compared to G35 or 350z, s2000 can be supercharged but once again its hard to compare the two, the Z has more space for trunk area where the s2000 barely has any room in the cockpit and trunk area

4doorj
05-04-2007, 10:03 PM
i heard in the 350z there is a lack of trunk space because of that big bar going across... makes alot of the trunk space useless
some people have put two golf bags in the s2000 trunk...
theres more trunk space also if u take out the took box thingy

Agreed. The Z does handle like a much heavier car, has lots of torque but almost no top end. I don't think these cars should be grouped in the same category - they're really 2 totally different cars.

But really, for most people who buy these kinds of cars, (the early 20's guys who are going for the "sporty" car), it doesn't really matter how it handles and how much power it has at the top end, because none of those guys will ever have the car at the limits in which the problems you guys talk about will show themselves drastically...All that they care about is that saying "I drive a 350z" will get all the OTHER 20 year old boys hard in the pants.

What are your guy's opinions on s2k parts from Spoon vs J's vs Mugen vs OEM.

I've been following up on threads from S2ki and alot of people are saying that Spoon parts (especially the brake rotors and calipers) break and crack really quickly compared to other brands such as J's and Mugen.

Funny never heard much of that at all, I would say Spoon calipers are one of the most popular upgrades since it is less than half the price of Js Brake upgrade which is made by endless anyway. Spoon/Js and oem parts imo are all great quality, but then youll have to make it complicated and start singling out parts one by one to see which one is better than the other

Spoon rotors crack easily for some reason.
Spoon calipers are nice but I'd go with a different rotor.
