I would avoid DeGreeves. I had a terrible experience with them when they installed my OEM soft top.

Poor workmanship, lack of attention, and lack of care.

They scratched the paint in multiple areas. The interior panels were not put back correctly (panels were scratched and a few cracked).

They initially said they've replaced soft tops on S2000s before and its an easy job. Yet when I pointed out the damage they caused after installation, they flipped their word and said the S2000 is one of the hardest cars to work on. They also blamed their incompetence on Honda's choice of plastic for the interior.

In the market for an s2k either ap1/ap2. Willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

How much would you pay for an s2k in todays day and age?

I have found 3 on kijiji ranging from $26,000-$32,000 with 73,000-110,000 km which is far above what I would pay for an s2k.

^ bit hard to answer without being able to judge on the cars condition/mileage/mods/etc.

AP1's should be sitting under 20k imo, again depends on other attributing factors. AP2's generally run mid 20's and up depending on mileage.

Give it another month, more will start to appear for sale to meet the start of spring/summer rush.

Yeah I've been looking around for a few months now. The lowest one I've seen was $15k but it was a rebuilt.

Here are the only s2k's that I see on sale currently:

The prices on S2000s have been creeping up, but there are deals to be had if you check kijiji frequently.

I saw an AP2 (2004) with 50k km listed a week ago for 20k. The posting disappeared after a day.

MurrayPeterson was selling his AP1 with ~200k KM for 12k which came with many sets of wheels and a trailer. That vehicle sold pretty quick as well.

Errol.
02-21-2017, 06:48 PM
Price of s2000 aren't what they use to be. Seems like almost everyone wants over $20,000 no matter what. I paid under $20,000 for mine over 6 years ago and it seems like they're worth more now then they were then. That being said I wouldn't pay over mid 20s for an early AP2 now. This might also be the reason I no longer own one.

I don't think you will see another S2000 as cheap as mine for a long time. I priced it low intentionally, since I wanted it to sell quickly. The buyer got a pretty good deal. And would you believe I still got some lowball offers that were laughable.

 if the interior were red or black I would probably sell my Berlina Black S2000 and buy yours. I've always wanted a GPW with a red interior since day 1.

Very fair price considering the amount of upgrades that have been done.

Yeah I wasn't over the moon on the blue when I first bought it but honestly it grows on you and I love it now, it just works really well with the GPW.

Glad to hear you guys think it's priced decently, I think I'm asking a more than fair price. I added the cost of all the parts I've put into it and essentially selling the mods for less than 1/3 of what I paid/put into it....which made me cringe a bit but that's the nature of the game, never get back what you put into it.

What mods do you guys have planned for your S2000 this season?

Do you guys have any parts you're going to sell? (I might start stockpiling parts for next season)

My car is still stock. I'm probably going to keep it stock until next year. I'm planning on going to the track this year. As a result, my focus is to make sure the car is safe and reliable for track driving.

The main area I will be focusing on are the brakes as the s2ki forums recommended new brake hoses (to replace my aged OEM AP1 brake hoses), dot 4 brake fluid to prevent brake fade, better pads that can take the heat generated from track driving, and another set of cheap rotors so I don't have to machine my old ones (I'll use my old ones as track spares in case I crack the new ones on the track).

I've already ordered the parts, now to wait for this wintry weather to pass so I can install them and go to the track.

Is anyone else going to track this year?

I'm in a similar situation. I think I pretty much have my mind set a set of RE-71R's.

Costco has $70 rebate on bridgestones right now. So a set of 255/40/17's comes out to be around $750+tax, which I think is a decent price..

Overpriced a little eh?

I wouldn't be surprised if it sold for that much. Last summer, I sold my mint bone stock 2009 with 21,xxx km's for 33k in a private sale. Prices seem to have gone up since then.

Agreed, might be $1000-$2000 overpriced but not totally out of the ballpark.

And I feel like $33k for yours pacman was a steal!

It may seem like a steal, and maybe it was considering the year and condition. However, once you start to weed out the buyers, there aren't many people willing to pay that kind of money for an S2000. I suppose that price range opens the door to other interesting cars (E46 M3, 996/997 911's etc)

I had a lot of interest in my car, but most offers were coming in at 27k to 30k. I had a few guys offer 31k and there were 2 or 3 from across Canada that actually offered my asking price and were ready to buy.

Nice cars seem to be appreciating in value and it's getting difficult to find low mileage, bone stock cars for anything less than high 20's to low 30's. I'm not sure where the market will top out for clean cars, but I wouldn't be surprised if clean, stock low mileage cars are fetching high 30's/low 40's in a few years.

There seems to be a lot of S2000 that are priced high but it does not seem like too many of them are actually moving for that price.

They're not, prices need to come down quite a bit for them to move. I've been watching a few cars for 1-2 years now! LOL.

Dropped the price on my s2k a couple grand, been a painful month of flakey people and only a couple actual potential buyers.

Anyone know anyone who wants to buy a nice s2k? I found a Ridgeline I want to buy and ready to move this for a fair price.

"I found a ridgeline I want"
"Wanna trade for a TSX?"

Man, I didn't know the TSX and ridgeline were the same. Here I assumed one was a truck, and one was a car.

Even with the cash on top, he'd still have to sell the TSX.

Haha yeah unfortunately not looking for a car, would entertain a Ridgeline for trade though.

No shit. Sometimes its easier to do a trade and sell a more popular car as opposed to a modded one hence people may be open to trades like that. Either way it was worth a try.

Another S2K would do me no good so I'm sorry but I'll have to decline.

Good choice on the Ridgeline though. I thought I'd regret it but it's served me very well in the time that I've had it (knock on wood) and I've been surprised at what I've hauled in the bed of that thing. I don't tow anything so can't comment on that.

You should just keep the S2K and get a Ridgeline. It's a great combo!
