Well, my grandma gave me her '86 Dodge Colt for $1... Yes i know its a colt, but its my first car, and only $1.

So, my dad calls the insurance company, and they tell him that its gonna be $3500 a year with just 1 million liability. Thats insane! I have never been in an accident or gotten a ticket.

What are good insurance companies that will be cheaper?

P.S, this is with Morgex

Who is your insurance company, cuz mine also told me that I "didn't even want to know" how much it is for a "sports car" like a teg or celica or something.

And tbk49, I have heard state farm is good and cheap, I think i will check them out.

not going to happen my friend, no matter what you do. as long as theres thefts and stupid drivers there will never be CHEAP insurance.

Add in : lax law enforcement, driver testing/education, and people filing ridiculous claims which they dont deserve but slither thier way into getting. As always, the responsible honest people foot the bill.

The situation is better here in BC where things are more regulated by government. My insurance for the Volvo would be almost twice as high in Alberta.

Try HSBC insurance... they have one of the best prices around right now and it may take a little longer for a quote but its almost bang on. :)

I'm with Trillagy right now and its not too bad... I pay $380/mo though... Damn Alberta insurance :banghead:

holy shit, damn thats bad...state farm is a good insurance company...

To attain 2100 a year I took drivers ed and have a "good student" thing, where you need to show your marks and theyll give u a discount for good marks in high school. Even though my avg. was only a 67 hahah. I only showed them my highest courses :)

I was paying $2400 a year for PL&PD on my first car, 1mil liability. My situation was pretty similar to tbk49s. If you haven't taken it, I'd highly recommend a drivers ed course. Even a little discount is better than none at all.

You poor bastards!! in Saskatchewan, I pay $2800 a year for $2,000,000 liability on BOTH my bike and my car. I also have tickets out the ass for speeding, stunting, and all types of ill shit.

I sure hope we don't go private insurance like you. That would lick balls.

Yeah i know saskatchewan is cheap. I pay 2000$ a year, 2 mil liability no collision, i have theft/hit n run too, 250$ deductable. I called state farm, and they quoted me, with only 1mil liability for 6500$, what a rip, am under my own plan too, nothing with my parents at all. Melloche Monnex is the place, i thikn their good, my friend has an 01prelude and he has decent rates as well, were 17-18 range. Hope that helps

Haha, ya one of my sisters friends is like that, although he does drive a 2 year old 3 series, he has a bunch of tickets.

And I have taken drivers ed but they still say 3500, its so retarded too cuz the car is worth like $500! damn insurance

I had an 02 RSX and was paying $3200/yr, full coverage. I now drive a 93 talon TSi, and pay only $1400/yr, full coverage. I am 20, have 2 minor tickets, and a racing ticket. Lundgren and young is the place to be. Everywhere else wanted over $7500 to insure my RSX, and $2000 for my talon.

Damn... 3-grand a year for the RSX... That seems like a deal to me, seeing as how a buddy of mine pays that for his CRV. Who do you deal with? I'm on some wierdo TDCanada Trust excrement called Meloche Monnex through SAIT and I'm on 1200/yr... course, I'm over the magic age of 25. (man, I'm old...) and my Civic's 4-door. Full coverage, 250 deduct, 1mill liab.

hmm, I guess I have it fairly good. $1850 / year for my 2003 Sentra SE-R Spec V. I'm 23 w/ no tickets and no accidents. That's full coverage, 1 mil liability, $500 deductible for collission and comprehensive. This is with TD Home and Auto insurance.
