Yah, little over the top. I understand the need to generate revenue, but seriously? Google ads are ok, expected and unobtrusive, the intellitext is an absolute monstrosity, and i've made a point to boycott forums that use them, but i can't live without beyond and rx-7club, please no more!

i don't see any ads in my browser. if you guys are using firefox, get the adblock plus add-on.

Moved the ad that was already there in first post to far right away from post content. If thats "intrusive" then well, I have nothing more to say.

It went from a small banner, to a giant 640x640 video for me. I immediately noticed it as an eyesore.

Urg, alright.

You know your OG when you were part of this site with 0 ad's.

ya I'm not a big fan of it either...

I'll work on a premium membership package this week, which will make the site completely ad-free for those that want to support beyond.

That should stop 100% of the bitching haha.

Well, i routinely, use this sites advertising. If i'm looking for an automotive related service, the first place i look is the "see all of our sponsors" page, and i routinly check them for updates.

I've NEVER (on purpose) clicked a google ad, and doubley so an intellitext link.

Ideally, advertisting should be optional in the sense of a small link offering a tidbit of information that you have to pursue for more, it becomes obstrusive to me when i have no choice to view it or not, or actively have to avoid it.

I almost never click on the ads, but you know which ones I do like? Those AuctionAd ones that link to eBay in the "Computers, Consoles, and other Electronics" section. I find myself clicking on those a lot. Maybe have a few more of those in select places...

I dunno yet, if you have suggestions, post them up. I'm going to work on the code to ensure that I can allow it.

I guess this is how we are paying for all that extra bandwidth we used in the last week cuz of that rsx thread.

since the ads are all the way to the right, I dont seem to mind it. better than alot of other forums where its in the middle or before the post

I don't mind the ads too much, but count me in for premium membership.

Keep the ads going Kenny and Rage but the 2 of you are going to have to split some of the profits with me. I feel that after 5 years of being a valuable contributing member my time is worth something. Ill leave it up to the 2 of you to come up with a figure.
