Viper looks awesome, hopefully they don't still build them like the 2006's - biggest POS I've ever sat in. I'm sure their a hoot to drive though. I'm hoping to make it down to skip barber racing school next year, and the give you: Bmw 330ci, BMW M3, Porsche boxter, Porsche carrera and finally a viper to learn "high performance driving in". It's $3000 for 2 days. I doubt it will be a 2008 viper though.

NO one else has pics of the Mercedes Benx SLR???? That was the highlight of the show for me personally.. I didn't take any pics cause evolize was using my camera ;) I love that paint on the viper too.. wish I could find some like it...

The back ground in the viper pic needs to be photoshopped out evolize :D

Are most of you guys presetting your WB in there or does your auto do a decent job?

EDIT:I am going to be the only one with a tripod, is it just too much of a pain to set up and get people to move?

I know the problems with flash. Say however I turn down my strength to -2.5, am I still going to see "flash burn" in the photos?

Bring a tripod and forget about the flash. I brought one tonight and it wasn't bad.

The Viper has a great colour scheme, but it looked like it was painted with spray bombs... very dull paint... wasn't impressed.

Well just went through all my pictures. Were sure a lot of nice cars there this year, probably one of the better years that I've seen. Photographing the exotics was a real pain because of their quarantine boxes but I'm sure too many fingers lurking around is the reason behind it:D

And yes that M coupe is damn sexy...:drool: I sat in it and was like dammit, this my new half-realistic dream car. It feels so wonderful inside, it's exact way that a sports car should feel.

The tripod was a good idea, I'm glad you guys mentioned to bring it or I would have come home severely disappointed. Near the end there was no one and I could move around the cars almost as much as I wanted to.

Setup was nothin fancy, Manfrotto tripod and ball head, D70 w/ Nikkor 35-70mm f/2.8 lens. There were quite a few times a 25mm or 28mm would have been perfect.

I'm not sure how to attach EXIF info with my images. All images are originally in RAW and converted to JPG via PS. Most of them were f/2.8-5.6, with lower shutter speeds of 1 s-1/60s.

Something I noticed at the car show was how willing people were to get out of the way when you had a tripod and an SLR setup instead of the P&S. One of the salesman from Honda asked me if I was a photographer taking pictures for all the dealerships :rofl: I wish man!

dude it's like in a different part (still connected to the round-up centre), but the exotics and the champ car display were in the old corral building!!!! :eek:

Actually, every year is about the same for Calgary. They had a Saleen S7 last year. There are actually less exotic this year compare to last as I can remember. No new concept shown here either.

What I notice is that luxury brands actually took over more floor space now than before for obvious reason. Many years ago, Mercedes and BMW won't even show up.

actually... the exhaust is indeed legit... I was looking underneath and that pipe goes all the way up front... but that was about all i could see... :dunno:
