Disabling constantly- running Corner light

(e36 92 BMW 325is)

I have just installed two clear lens corner lights

Basically, the amber bulb is always on and running, making the whole light look orange.

I would like to have the amber bulb ONLY on during flashing.

What do you do to accomplish this?


*** I know i must remove a wire but I do not know which of the 3 wires entering the bulb to remove.

pull the grey/purple striped wire in the bulb harness.

That seems to do it

I discovered that placing electrical tape over one of the two prongs on the bottom of the actual bulb does the trick as well.

For E36, it uses dual filament bulbs. So it works.
