Hey, i started a thread before that lead nowhere, so ill start a new one listing the requirements im after and cars that WONT work, thanks for any help.

Requirements:

Under $15,000
fun and fast(ish) (not looking for a 10 second car lol)
good mpg (20+ maybe 25+)
wont ruin my insurance rates.

Cars that wont work:

Subaru wrx (im 19 yrs old, insurance would be murder)
Nissan 300 (cant afford the twin turbo thing)
Nissan 240 (cant remeber what it was, but this wont work either)
Dodge omni (fast, good mpg, but ugly as sin, dont like that)
DSM (reliability)
Camaro/firebird (fast/fun, not sure how it'd effect insurance, MPG ok until you actually turn on the car :P)

so lets see what we can come up with.

edit: typo

01-05 Civic Si,

Enough power, smooth styling, great features, very reliable and great cars for everyday driving as well as possible projects.

2 things
1st, why would a WRX's insurance rate be high? they are 4 door sedans.

2nd, you're probably best off going with some sort of pre-2000 Honda.

mazdaspeed protege

it might be hard to find and it might be a grand more than 15 but i just picked up mine and it is good on gas (if you drive normally), cheap/er on insurance and the speed aspect of it is decent...but it handles very well. not to mention it is also a pretty rare car (i think it was like 3500 ever made?) so you get attention everywere you go with a stock car....so far i like it

Insurance companies look at other things not just how many doors a car has when setting their rates.

He won't find a WRX under 15 grand anyways.

Ford Focus ZX3, and I just happen to have one for sale!!

I know they're not the import car that most people want, but we absolutely loved it, and if it weren't for our first kid coming this summer, we wouldn't be selling it.

try an MR2, sweet looking, older, fast as hell not great on gas, but insurance is pretty good since theyre a little older. turbo or non turbo theyre still fast.

Well i found a real contender:

1994 BMW (forget the model)
52,000kms
Custom paint job
lowered professionally
17in rims

$9000

My best friends dad just picked it up, hes an auto painter so hes doing the paintjob for free, his friend lowered it and the rims are brand new and just installed.
Sounds like a good deal to me but what do yall think? Hes only charging me what he paid for the car and the stuff done to it, hes not making a profit at all :P

Im going to find out more about it tomorrow.

Sexy looking car as is IMO, cant wait to see it with the paintjob all done. Hes doing White with perl and some subtle pinstriping. Should be hot. Hes getting the back 3 windows tinted this weekend too.
