Seeing as this years drag season is coming up shortly, I wanna see what other mr2s have ran here in Calgary, or anywhere close, and to see what your shooting for this year.

My personal best last year was:
http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j304/itsasoldasme/IMG_0631.jpg
Mods at the time were: CT20B, HKS Intake, Garage Fukui Exhaust, Stock Cat, HKS FCD, HKS BOV, TwosRus MBC @ 14psi, on Nexan Street Tires (225/45/R17)

New mods for this year: HKS IC, custom piping, Newer HKS BOV, KO Downpipe, Removed AC, Oil Catch Can, ATS TB Inlet, ACT 6 puck clutch. Shooting for 12s

Hello from Egypt!

My best time was 15.126. Sorry, I no longer have the timeslip, but I remember it well (it was my best time). Car is an 87 MR2. Mods at that time: 4A-GZE right after a tuneup, eibach springs, partially stripped interior. I dont think I'll be racing this year, but if there is an interest in having a bunch of MR2's head for the track one night, I could probably be persuaded to go.

Cheers,
Berg

I ran 14.1 in Edmonton.

Mods were: Apex'I Intake, and Twos'R'Us boost controller at 15 psi.

This year I have the following mods:

CT20B Hybrid, Apex'I Intake, Polyurethane Motor Mounts, 3 Inch Downpipe, Berk 3 Inch Exhaust, Twos'R'Us boost controller at 17 PSI, and I think thats it.

Ill be happy with a 13.3 or anything around their, I guess we will see. :)

The turbo is good for 12's but I don't want to disappoint myself if I don't achieve it.

O and I have a blown tranny. :thumbsdow

Thats wicked for stock man, best I could ever hit was 14.7 back when I had it stock and dragged it. High 12s is a comfortable place to be.

There is a guy in the Edmonton Club who hit 13.7 STOCK, and I mean stock BOOST also.

It is a JDM car. I find it hard to believe though.

Gen 3 stock maybe. I find that hard to believe, especially at our elevation.

Yea thats the thing, and I heard it from many others also. But I won't believe it until I see it myself.

And it is a Gen II.

It takes a lot of energy (Horsepower) to get that little bit extra.

The lower the times get, the harder it is to get that extra tenth of a second.

Really? No one has yet? This makes me wanna do it even more!!!
I just wanna see if I can do it on the CT20B first.
Hopefully Ill get out the first weekend its open, get a nice cool night, and see what happens.

Unless you have an auto, I'd say you'll need at least a 105mph trap speed to see 12's.

Ya, thats where Im hoping the new downpipe/IC/ and more boost will help out. I think 105mph trap speed would be the minimum to get into 12's.

Oh, and Im gonna fold it my mirrors! haha

I don't own an mr2 but I've done some research on the elevation here in Calgary and though we are roughly about 3500ft above sea level on a normal summer day our cars feel like it's just above 5000ft because of pressure, relative humidity and overall air density.

You will consistantly run between .4 and .6 faster in EDM vs Calgary.

You will also get your best runs here once the sun goes down and it starts to cool off. Headwinds are also common at Racecity and track prep sucks. That being said I still love the place ;)

with that said carry on folks!

If you're in Calgary and you want to know it the air pressure is good or not for racing, check out www.wx.ca.
You'll be able to see the pressure trend through the day. I don't have a MR2 but I've used this to race on a night with awesome pressure and got my best ET and MPH. Also, it seems to be very helpefull on FI cars to ice the intake manifold, and maybe even the cold side of the turbo. A bag of ice or 2 is cheap.

17's.

Seriously.

I ran mine when it was NA, and it did a best of 16.9 and that is in Edmonton. Then I swapped the engine and got a 14.1 :bigpimp:

How did you get that much power on stock fuel? Especially on a mustang dyno.

You'd think with that much power you'd be touching 11's..... or have a high trap speed anyways.
