Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is an insurance company in Calgary that will insure Motorcycles on a monthy or semi-annual basis?

Thanks.

5hift is right. And any company that you CAN find who will do it monthly or in 6 month terms will charge you the same as a normal company would for the year. Insurance companies arent stupid they realize bikes are only driven in the summer in Calgary for the most part.

Call around and get some quotes. Insurance isnt as bad as you might expect if you find a decent company. When I first started looking I got quoted $1500/yr for full coverage including theft and vandalism on an 07 R6 with $500 deductibles. Eventually I found one company for less than $800/yr with the same coverage and $250 deductibles on a brand new bike as a fairly new rider. Cant get much better than that.

mind telling us which company that was?

its possible they changed the rate but we can always call in and find out if they still give out the same rate as you stated....

I dont remember the company name. I went through my broker and didnt pay much attention. I know the first high quote was with AXA because thats who the rest of my insurance is with.

I decided I'd wait until april to buy the bike so I dont have the pink slips yet to check. I'll see if I can find the written quote laying around the house tho.

There are better quotes than the one above, depending on your age, experience, tickets yada yada

I pay $650 a year for a 1998 Honda VTR1000F

Its your job to shop around as every place gives discounts for different things.

IE Me at TD because I am with ASET

$320 a year for a 07 R1 is either a steal or more likely means you've left some kinda coverage out .

I get pretty decent coverage with Palmer Salmon for my 03 600RR for ~$500.

On masked bandits advise I changed the comprehensive to specified perils, before that change it was quite a bit more! Other wise its full coverage.

Try State Farm insurance or Blue Circle, State Farm is probably cheapest.
