im interested in this aswell, more so in the price of the kit, ther is no "universal kit" is there? (if someone knows where i can get a pricetag on one of these for a 95 camaro it would make me happy) as for the install most bodyshops would do it with ease, install, body work, paint etc..

hmmm..... so when you shave the handles, and you install the kit, do you get a seperate remote to pop the doors with?

I am getting my car painted and I would like to shave the emblems for sure, but the idea that I wont be able to get into my car kinda because of incompatibility or low battteries scares me....:dunno:

Wildcat i think that moose just wants his four door car to get the rear door handles shaved so he doesn't need a kit .....he can open the doors because he can get in from the front seat and reach back to the handle and open the door!!!! haha

and moose just take out the handles weld in a custom made piece of metal use a little fiberglass or bondo and paint the doors!!!!!

shaved door handles are illegal and your car wont pass safety if you ever try to sell it.. but look cool!

^SkylinE^
06-04-2003, 12:31 PM
REally there illegal?? crazy ..... i wonder what the reason for that is? Anyone know.

VWhooligan
06-04-2003, 02:09 PM
because its a safety hazard. what happens if you flip your car, and you're stuck inside. the ambulance guys have no way into your car because there are no handles!!

Bust the window reach in and open the door????

VWhooligan

what if you have tint.. breaking the window requires alot more effort when the car has tint.. it doesnt just shatter.

well its your decision, but it becomes a safety concern if you were to be in an accident and they couldn't open the door fast enough to pull you from the burning wreckage.:dunno:

What if you have handles and your door is locked and you're in an accident and passed out and he has to get in fast to save you. You can what if all day, but you're not in that much more danger without door handles

BBMac

how is it more dangerous than having a small two door coupe with back seats??? it's not like the paramedics have a door through the rear side window....

most new cars have roll sensors in them.... Go lock your doors, roll your can over and see if they open :D (if its newer of course)... they will even turn the hazzards on... Its totaly up to you. I shaved my locks off, but i am keeping my door handles

What about side moldings ?
is there any kit for filling these(specially shaped piece of metal)?
or is fiberglass/bondo the best way ?

///M3

you would weld in a metall plate then grind smooth and use alittle bondo if you screwed up. I've seen guys just fill the handle up with bonod/fiberglass eventually it just pops out and you can see where the handle used to be, lol
