I'm in the process of picking some courses for next Fall/Winter and I was wondering if anyone had any good recommendation for some option courses?? Preferably senior level (non 200 level). Doesn't have to be retardly easy, but it's gotta be interesting.

Any suggestions?

To take a 300 level course don't you need to complete some sort of 200 level class as a pre-requisite?

Nope, not at all. Some courses don't even need pre-requisites, like the 400 level history course I'm taking right now.

GNST341 if they still offer it, think of it as CALM 20 for University :D

yeah man!! htst 323 was easy!! i went to 5 courses and ended up getting a B+ in his course!!

any course taught by him is easy. ...you should also look at philosophy of law, i really enjoyed that one.

i actually learned quite a bit. i did all the readings. a lot of it was review though as i had taken a similar course that was being taught in french.

i've taken all three of his courses, and i have found each one of them interesting. i would've liked to have made it to more of his classes, but since most of it was review, i had to focus most of my available time on my other courses.

Ugh, more history! I'm trying to take as little history as possible from now on. So much reading!

yup, i took htst 321 the same semester as 323 and htst 319 last fall. he's a great prof for making what would usually be dry and boring, fun and interesting!

D'z Nutz: why not take a beginner chinese or french course?? english isn't so bad either. :)

The easiest option I ever took at the Uni was Transportation Science 301 (TRAN301).. I don't think anyone in my class got anything lower than a B+

The whole course consisted of working with a program called TransCAD GIS, and the assignments are all strictly based on that program.. but the thing is, the program comes with an instruction guide that tells you what to do to draw nodes and modes in cities.. and the assignments were just papers (1-2 pages long) writing about what you did in TransCAD.. so all you had to do was read the instruction manual for the specified section, paste it into word, and reword it so it formed complete sentences.

Is TRAN301 boring though? I don't want to go to a class I'll have no interest in. I won't be motivated to do anything...

welp, it's pretty boring, basically you don't learn a god dam thing.. unless if you have a real interest in city logistics, IE. Bus Services, road improvements, etc.

I can't remember the numbers, but I know the names and instructors, so here goes:

HTST 3??or 4?? -History of Women in Asia. Dr. Fan Pen Chen

Watched movies like Farewell my Concubine and Joy Luck club.
She gives you potential questions to be on the exams to 'study' the answer for and certain ones are on the exams.
Easy written/short answer tests. eg. Who was Fa Mulan.

HTST 4?? -Military Strategy with Dr. Holger Herwig (James Cameron consulted this guy for his Bismarck film)

write 2 or 3 papers about some war/military strategy covered in class. No final exam.

(Peloponnesian War, Mongols vs. Europeans , Nazi Germany vs. Russia)

Really interesting if you are into that stuff (Clausewitz, Sun Tzu, etc.)

PSYC 375(?) Sensation and Perception

How the 5 senses work, like Bio 30 in high school. 3-4 multiple choice tests. Large classes though, steep curve, >90 for an A.

Take any soci course... generally u need soci 201, but they can let that slide sometimes, just have to talk to the dean.
Soci 325 (soci of crime) is really good, take it with Manzo.
Or take Soci 399 (soci of sport) there's a nice slack course for you.

I also heard that POLI317 is really easy as well, and you don't need to take any 200 level POLI-SCIs to take the course.. i've never taken it myself though.

Try Psych with Fouts. I can't remember the course number but the class was Adolecense. Great prof, probably the best I had, never had a standing ovation in the last class before! Plus the course is fairly easy (i.e gauranteed B at least) and quite enjoyable.

Hahaha! Now that I've just registered and I'm officially in the course, I thought I'd mention FILM 305.05 - Sopranos in Context :D

Anyone ever take this course?? I heard good things about it. I tried getting into it last year, but it was full by the second day of registering. Not this year!!

Oh WTF!!?? Now I remember, they introduced that course the year after I finished. I 100% guarantee I could get an A in that course without even attending classes as I am a religious follower of that show!
