strike 1 - you leave car running in NE
strike 2 - you left your keys in your car ie. buy a turbo timer
strike 3 - you still havent checked the FS forum for a "Steal of a deal"

what were you thinking.... sorry to here it man but really what do you expect. Best advice is start looking for parts for sale your car is likely gone

Boost Infested
03-22-2007, 03:43 PM
Or how it's gonna work out when you tell them...

"Yeah my new car just got stolen...BUT...I left it running with the keys in the ignition, in my open garage..."

I think Insurance might tell you to "not let the door hit you on the way out"...

BTW, this was EK 2.0 on Boost Infested's account.

Last I heard insurance doesn't cover stolen cars if they're left running, unattended.

Shit outta' luck

I'm pretty sure if you actually tell the insurance company you left it running, they won't cover it. However that part is up to you.

I think your SOL, but make sure u post what happens after u tell the insurance company "Yeah my new car just got stolen...BUT...I left it running with the keys in the ignition, in my open garage..."

Oh yeah sorry for your loss...could of been prevented...

So you left your car running unattended for 10min?!?:nut:
The most i'll ever leave it unattended for is 30seconds just to run in the house and grab something.

So yea i guess you are SOL.

Hope you find it though!

Sucks. Like everyone else will keep an eye out but it sounds pretty unique for Calgary. May be parted out or shipped out really fast. Crossing my fingers for you though.

Why would insurance not cover it if it's running? It's not they only honour the hard work of theives. Or that leaving your car running and open is someone universal code for "free car, please take me -- return at your discretion".

That's rediculous.

ppl leaving their cars started while the keys in the ignition deserve to get their shit stolen, especially when you know your in a bad neighborhood to start off with. Lets hope you learn from your mistakes, shitty to hear.

This is true..think about how stupid kids can be these days..i totaly take my keys anytime i leave the car..even if im outside parked RIGHT infront of 711 and im getting smokes or something..never ever leave keys in your ignition and leave the car..you'll either lock your keys in your car..orrr someone does this lol..but as for the checking beyond comment..WHY does everyone say this..the kid who stole it..if he even has beyond will for sure see this..and be like ok i wont do that now..its so obvious..llol:dunno:

GL on finding your car..if i see it ill chase it down im sure i can catch him lol:devil: :whipped:

Insurance will ask you if you left your doors unlocked. That alone is enough to make them deny your claim, let alone leaving it outside with the key in the ignition. Good luck finding it. My neon was missing for 4 months before they found it, and it wasn't that badly damaged.

Honestly im sure he feels bad enough and sad already, give him some support not beat him down lower. I cant imagine just bringing a car home all excited and then it be gone. It could of happened to any of us, im sure we have all ran inside to grab something or let the car warm up on those cold days.

Good job on getting it back, hopefully everything works out ok.

Because a lot of car thieves are just 16 year old punks looking for a joyride, and don't know how to drive.
