Tommy Burger Bar

Well I finally got around to going to Tommy Burger Bar with 10 friends last night. For those of you who do not know, it is a lounge/restaraunt type place, the same owners as the Metropolitan Grill, located on the west side of Mcleod Trail, same lot as Shanks south. As the name clearly states, they specialize in burgers, and boy do they ever!

Atmosphere was pretty good. It has a funky, modern theme, comparable (yet different) to Earls, Joey's, Moxies etc. They have numerous LCDs so you can watch sports, in our case we enjoyed the Flames game, nice lil' win over Nashville.

They have a BYOB (build your own burger), with about 20 choices for toppings including things like jalapeno bacon and a fried egg. The plain burger starts at 7.50, and each topping is about 1.25, along with a number of pre-made burgers such as a California or Smokehouse type burger, all very good. Fries are extra, come in a variety of seasonings and are about 2.50. These burgers are to die for. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the burgers, they really are quite tasty. A handfull of us, myself included, left saying that it was probably the best burger we had ever had. The fries are excellent, and come as a pretty large portion. We tried a variety of fries, burgers, and onion rings, all were EXCELLENT. the portions are good, and you will definately not leave hungry. When all is said and done, your meal would probably cost around $12-15, depending on toppings, not a stretch from a burger at any other comparable restaurant.

The service was good, nothing over the top but nothing to complain about. Not much else to say.

Overall, this was an excellent meal in a fun place. The group consensus was that we would love to go back the next time we are craving a burger. The food was excellent, reasonable price comparable to Earls or Joeys, and it is something new and fun. I HIGHLY recommend you go there next time you are in the mood for a burger and a beer!

Food: 10/10

Atmosphere: 8/10

Service: 9/10

Price: 8.5/10

Overall: 9/10

I have to agree, it is similar to other restaraunt/lounge places, but it has better food and a better atmosphere. Both times I've been there service and food have both been quite good.
