92.9 plays some interesting stuff.

Basically it's hard to come from listening to american stations all my life. Detroit stations specifically.

This stations going to lick BALLLS. Either they need a Trance/Rave/Techno station or they need a hardcore hip-hop one liek they got down in Cali.

hmmm, I listened in and they were playing Madonna Get into the Groove HAHA...as cheesy as it sounds I wouldn't mind a station that played a lot of 80's...maybe target teh 25-40 audience..I'm guessing its kind of like saturday nite Big Kids Nite Out at the Whiskey for those of you that have been..this station is definitely geared towards an older crowd

It's all right, kind of like a mix of jack and vibe to me.

sweet not bad, looks like some more competition with vibe, wonder who's gonna last longer? LOL

it's owned by "chum radio" which is the same owner's as muchmusic channel, etc.

we'll see after a week or two how i like it :D

Wow, sounds like everything we already have. Must be a big market for radio stations that are made to be played as background music in malls.

Sounds like they're primarily target the female audience, so I might be biased to not like it... at all. I'd rather a techno station, and I don't even like techno, just something different.

Sirius Rules...Why bother with 20 hours of commercials and Nelly Furtado all day long???

Thanks for the compliments....I think $15 a month is well worth it not to listen to Nelly Furtado and the rest of the crap. + I haven't made a cd for the car since I've had Sirius. Also I have something to listen to on road trips-never run out of signal. :bigpimp:

Any new station in Calgary is a good thing. We all know how pathetic the regular stations in town are. This could be a good thing as Energy will kick Vibe in the ass, much like X is doing to Cjay. Standard Radio (who owns Cjay and Vibe) sucks major ass.

89X baby!!

I agree 1000%, Detroit radio stations rocked.. That's why I have XM, until recently all you had was "world famous" CGay.

after listening it to the new station for a bit...(2 days so far)

pretty much vibe stuff except less hiphop/rap than vibe, instead with "guilty pleasures" from the 80s/90s as they call it occasionally

I think Calgary has a good demographic for a strictly 80s and 90s station....call it the oldies station if you will...isnt the majority of people in Calgary between 25-40?

how many asians do you think make up calgary's population?
plus you get the odd brown, white, black person listening to rave, house etc. =)

i think a house rave or whatever station would be pretty successful. id be more down with the house though. i like the nice mellow tracks. not into the hardcore rave stuff anymore.
