Ok I am getting this error message with windows xp, "error 2114: the server service is not started"

I don't get anthing in device manager, and windows states this as the fix.

The Server service is not started.
Explanation: The specified server is not started. The server must be started before you can run this command.

Action: Use the Services option in Control Panel to start the Server service. Try the command again after the server has been started. If you need assistance, contact your network administrator.

But I am not running a server, it is on my laptop, with wireless WAN only. I lost all internet connections LAN and WAN.

Any help would be a god send

go to control panel, administrator tools, services

and double click on server

it should be in automatic, and if it is not running, start it.

if it gives another error or wont start, look on the tab that says dependancies and see if anything listed there is running or not, then try again

Yes server was disabled, so now automatic, but where do I find the tab for dependancies?

if you enabled the server, then just reboot your comp and restart whatever prog you were using that caused the error
