This is not easy... have had a few thread going on a few different websites but ive changed things a bit, not looking for a fast car really, looking for an all around classy car. I want leather interior, heated seats (it gets cold here in canada lol) fully loaded etc.. Good MPG, easy on insurance for around $9000cad, possibly 10,000 but thats pushing it. Someone suggested an acura 1.7 el, but only the 2001+ have optional leather interiors but there too much $$. Also, is it possible to get aftermarket leather interiors and such? Id rather not go that route cuz its probably more expencive but im up for some suggestions. Sorry for the multiple threads but car buying isn't an easy thing lol, need to weigh my options. I was thinking of a civic but there not exactly luxury lol, but the MPG is perfect :( oh well, show me watcha got :P

Hmm nice car, like the styling, but wouldn't repair costs be quite high with it being imported and all?

That's not true. Leather was available in the Premium Package for 97-00 Acura EL's. I had one when it was new and I definitely wouldn't call that car luxury. It was a Civic with low grade leather.

Well, you wanted luxury, so prepare to pay more. Lexus seems to fall under the luxury category and if you want something 'luxurious' you might reconsider your budget and find an older car, maybe early 90's BMW's, even then those 3 series arent really anything luxurious.

let me ask you this, is the civic luxurious? your answer would be quite applicable to the EL

Buy my Saab 900SE. Turbocharge 2.0L so its good on gas when you arent in boost and goes like hell when you want. Every option you could imagine including headlight wipers and 2 way power moonroof etc etc. $5500 and its yours. PM for more info.

why with only $9 K .. and u want a luxury car??

Yeah .. u can get early 5 series .. ( like 89 / 90 ) early 7 series .. early E class .. early LS400 or STS etc for $9k ..

But then .. price for gas .. fixing .. maintain .. will cost you a lots ..

EL is actually not a bad choice .. or TL from mid 90's .. but they are not really luxury at all ...

good luck .. :D

That saab is a beauty. For just over 5k I can't think of a better car.

If you want something else, look at a loaded accord. Leather, loaded, V6 engine, the works.

You may be able to import at "fixer upper" 850I or SEL600 from J-specimports. I've seen a few go for $6-9k Landed... with only a few cosmetic flaws that really aren't much at all.

I drive an infiniti g20... its a wicked stellar 4 cylinder. Comes stock with an sr20 so its a good reliable engine.

But.. good luck finding one. They are quite rare.

Come on, most of us aren't Benz driving ballas like you, we have to make choices. If we were what would there be to talk about? :)

I second the 850I. I'm sure it will teach you all about luxury cars. Don't know if it has heated seats though.

Your criteria is fucking outrageous. You are not going to be driving a luxurious car made within the past 12 years on your cheapskate budget.

And this is a prime example of why these threads should stop. Only a sadist would suggest anyone, especially someone on a budget, should buy a 850 or 600... not even a funny joke.

In addition to that, 9/10 of these threads are started with unrealistic expectations or are too general in the criteria.

Threads like these are a waste of everyone's time... the starter and the posters. Starter because he rarely gets useful/good information and the posters because, no matter how good the advice, the thread starter isn't likely to do anything with it anyways...

On that note... buy a JDM 850Ci that you can land at $9k... then everyone gets what they deserve...

850Ci was first produced in 1994 so not legal yet.

Besides, what's wrong with being a sadist? Maybe some of us actually enjoy fixing up cars?
