Ah well. The producer deserved it. He lent the movie his Carrera GT for a scene where it gets crashed. That's right: he crashed his real CGT. Why? Apparently, he doesn't know how to drive, because he said that the car tried to kill him. Yeah right. He's just an idiot.

Actually, the Carrera GT that gets crashed in the movie was a salvage car that they bought and repaired for use in the movie. It was meant to be crashed.

The Enzo, valued at around $1.5 million, was owned by the executive producer of "Redline," Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection is featured in the movie.

Sadek said that the car was damaged beyond repair and that he had "mixed feelings" about the wreck.

"I'm glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed," Sadek said. "I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there's people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world."

I'll try and find the interview. From what I remember, the producer already had a CGT, and bought a salvage car just for the scene. It had no engine, and was fixed to look normal. Cost was 200k.

Salvage CGT's are fairly available, so it'd make so financial sense to buy one just to crash for 1 scene. It makes marketing sense though to SAY that he owned 2 and crashed one cuz he had a spare ;).
