I have been cruising the internet classifieds looking for a new project car to buy over the next 4 or 5 months. I found a 94 Supra that has no engine in it for $5000 and it also has some body damage. But my question is, are they legal in Canada? The only time I have ever seen one it has had a US plate on it. I am sure they are legal because I have seen some for sale in Canada but still, is there something I am missing here? I found an engine for it on JDMRacingmotors.com for $6000 plus shipping from Montreal.

Any info would be great but there is no rush...it will take a 2 or 3 months to save up the $5000.

do you think that would be a good project? I was looking them up on autotrader and they are selling for 40-50 grand.

so $11-13000 plus a lot of time in the garage might be worth it right?

or am i Competely wrong about this.

I love toyotas, but I have been craving RWD lately. I was thinking about financing a 2000 Lexus is300...or just keeping money in my pocket and playing around with a newer Tercel.

ow yes it is fucked up...i am waiting to hear back from the guy with some more pics and info on it but he said it was involved in a roll over but i did not see any damage to the roof...i am guessing there is some damage to the frame which will halt the project idea right there...but thanks i will check out that site. from the pictures it looks as though there is no interior either and there is no transmission...so it would be a full fledged project...and i would get to invest some of my crazy ideas into it.

$5000 dollars for a shell is not bad.......

Make sure JDM is selling you the tranny with the clutch

If it doesn't have a tranny your or all the fly wheel or shifter etc.... your looking at close to 10,000 for all that shit.

does it have a Rad, Air conditioning, Turbo's....... if not add another 10,000

How are the breaks...have to be in good shape to pass OOP Inspection.

If all you need is

Engine $6000 used
Install 1200.00
New Paint Job $3000
Steering Wheel and Seats 3000
Turbo (assume you upgrade) $8,000 for everything including intercooler and BOV and Install.
Tranny and all the parts including the shifter and clutch 9,000 with install
Rad, Exhaust, Down Pipe 2300.00
Wheels, Brakes, rotors 5000.00
Shell $5000.00

Total $42,500.00

These are things you need to think about

Engine $6000 used
its a project so i will be attempting the install myself with friends

New Paint Job $3000
I will be doing myself

Steering Wheel and Seats 3000
comes with seats and i am assuming a steering wheel as well...when i say there is no interior what i meant to say is that the interior is out of it...but it is included

Turbo (assume you upgrade) $8,000 for everything including intercooler and BOV and Install.
the JDM engine comes with twin turbos
this is what is included with the engine
Motor
Transmission
ECU
Wiring Harness
Turbo
Power Steering Pump
AC compressor
Alternator
Starter
Intake Manifold
Turbo Manifold
Ignitor Chip (available)
MAFS (available)

Rad, Exhaust, Down Pipe 2300.00
still on car, just the engine and the tranny are gone

Wheels, Brakes, rotors 5000.00
it still has wheels and brakes and only has 10,000 km on the shell

Shell $5000.00

More work than I'd be willing to do, that's for damn sure.

Should be interesting if you go for it though :)

scratch the idea of the shell i found...i am guessing that the picture they had posted was of a different damaged supra because the pictures he just sent me looked like the car was run over with a dumptruck
