If its your first bike, most people will reccomend a gs500 or a sv650 at the most nothing in the supersport class ie :gsxr rr or r6 r1 etc. Im 6'4" and ride a 2k6 GSXR600 and fit on it fine most sport bikes your gonna get are gonna be cramped thats just how they are built.

I second the sv650 for someone of that size and a new rider. They are fun bikes, lots of aftermarket support too.

I am 6'4" and have found the TLR (i own one), the 929. the 954, the ZX12R, the ZX7R, the older SRAD gixxers and the GSXR1000 all bearable at least for size. I couldn't stand the RC51, the R1 and R6, all where too tight/small.

You might want to check out www.groundpilots.com - There is a lot of good info over there about bikes.

at 6'5" you are going to be cramped on any sport style bike.

something you may want to consider is a sport - touring type.

all brands have one like these. They are made for touring ... therefore have a much more roomy rider position

anything else feel free to ask

i think a vtr or vfr or fz1 would be exactly what you're looking for. remember, buy the fastest bike you can afford, that way i can buy it off your insurance company and get some spare parts for mine. haha lol

Skyline04, don't listen to anything 8ball says. Hes pretty well full of shit.

Anyways, I suggest staying in a lower cc's. I agree with above and don't jump into the race replica bikes or anything like that. Go to a bike shop and just start sitting on bikes. See which one feels the best for your size. Also don't ask on here, go to ground pilots, OR better yet, talk to a sales guy at one of the shops. Most of them are good guys and they will give you good advice for a first bike, etc.

^ yeah the folks at Blackfoot are awesome. Avoid a Honda RC51, they may be appealing to some, but I swear their designed for midgets. My wrists were merely a few inches away from my knees when I road one, and I'm only 5'11":nut:
Their designed for hard use/track use only, for commuting their a nightmare in everyway.

Yes, Blackfoot is amazing for that stuff. They even have a online chat you can use at www.blackfootmotosports.com and talk to a sales guy over the internet. They can help you. If you want a real good guy to go to, go see Ryan Torris at blackfoot. He helped me buy my first bike, awesome guy. I'm probably only going to him when I decide to buy my next bike.
