because no the heat degradation your components have suffered will not be restored.

Data can be restored from a formatted HD even if you put new data over top so if it is something illegal you should remove the medium and burn it or something along those lines

if you just mean the xp install if your having problems, it should go back to normal but if it is due to something you are trying to run or install it will just screw up again anyways
