Does anyone know where I can find this? What are the laws in Calgary on BBQing on apartment balconies?

Check your condo by-law. Whatever it say goes. If you don't like it... well move out or generate a motion to allow it.. You agree to it the minute you bought/rent the place.

There's no law about BBQs in condos from City of Calgary perspective. But according to Alberta Condo Property Act:

http://www.qp.gov.ab.ca/Documents/acts/C22.CFM

(g) do anything in respect of the owner’s unit, the real or personal property of the corporation or the common property or bring or keep anything on it that will in any way increase the risk of fire or result in an increase of any insurance premiums payable by the corporation;

(i) hang or place on the real property of the corporation or the common property or within or on a unit anything that is, in the opinion of the board, esthetically unpleasing when viewed from outside the units;

They can get you on these 2 points.

Also read section 25 for sanctions which can be up to $10K for failure to comply.

yeah, each condo has their own rules and bylaws regarding this stuff.
