This is not the VR lens.
This is also not the ED lens. There is no aperture ring, the focus is screw driven (will not autofocus on a D40/D40x). The lens is a little soft around the edges -- this is characteristic of the lens, and is less noticeable on DX format cameras.
It's had a UV filter on it every time I've used it, and since it was removed, it hasn't had the cap taken off. Comes with box, packaging, warranty card, etc.
Takes okay photos, but it's a little slow and I really never use a focal length that long.
$75. (TCS sells it for $164.95 -- this is less than half price on a lens that was used twice.)
