Watching in the news this morning. Part of a duplex house went boom sometime yesterday. Nice shots of a Skyline parked in the drive way so I figure it's a beyond members. :D

Nope this one

An explosion in a duplex rocked a northeast neighbourhood last night, leading authorities to suspect it might been deliberately set off.

Fire crews were called to 6816 22 Ave. N.E. about 7:15 p.m., where they found a home with its windows blown out, but no fire or smoke.

Passersby who were hit by flying glass heard a loud blast, as did the next-door neighbour who was in a room where the walls buckled at the time of the explosion.

A dog in the residence was rescued, said fire department spokeswoman Deb Bergeson.

"Obviously somebody was using the stove and dashed before we got there, but it's too early to determine if there was any criminal activity," Bergeson said.

"It is suspected that from the kitchen, a flammable environment was created which was eventually ignited by the pilot light of the furnace."

Acting fire chief Paul Gough confirmed the blast was caused after some sort of illicit activity created fumes that found their way into a heating duct to the furnace.

Police took a man from the scene and questioned him, but no charges were laid.
