Car alarm info required pls

Ok, here's the deal - I'm attempting to remedy a problem with an aftermarket system installed on a QX4. I don't have the remote for the aftermarket system (it was installed when I purchased the vehicle). I would like to either disable the new system and reenable the factory system or the other option would be to locate a replacement remote for the aftermarket system.

The info I've located on the unit located under the dash is:

Just unplug it from all the connections and use the remote that came with the truck.

Tried that but doesn't work. I unplugged the 3 harnesses from the main unit but the original remote still doesn't work. I changed the battery so I'm sure it's not the remote.

There are many reasons then:
- the remote infact does not work (maybe it was dropped in a toilet or something before)
- the remote is not matched to your truck (maybe it needs to be reprogrammed?)
- something is wrong with the brain for your factory remote inside the truck

My factory remote works even if I have my aftermarket system hooked up.

Could be that the factory alarm was problematic hence the reason of the aftermarket install.

AS-1200 is an Autostart product.
